When projects are born human and practical, responsibility isn’t a feature; it’s the baseline.

Design, for me, isn’t a luxury. It’s a practical right: beautiful, functional things that are accessible, understandable, and made for the people who actually use them. I’m not interested in creating need. I’m interested in giving people power. The power to choose, to understand, to exchange, to repair. The power to keep objects alive instead of throwing them away the first time something goes wrong.
I believe in innovation when it has a clear purpose and when it doesn’t leave wreckage behind. Design should serve people, but also what sustains them: nature, animals, and the fragile balances we’re consuming. Every time we design something, we’re deciding a piece of the future. And that choice has a cost, even when we don’t see it right away.
That’s why I feel a strong responsibility: I don’t want what I design to create waste, inefficiency, exclusion, or dependency. I want products and systems that last, that can be maintained, that make economic sense without being predatory, that build value without offloading the damage onto someone else.
Design is the most universal tool we have to create connection. Connection between people, between people and places, between technology and real life. It can generate real emotion, not because it sells, but because it respects. And if my work doesn’t improve life without making the world around it worse, then it isn’t good design.
